Election Week Weather in New Jersey: Frost Sunday Morning, Then a Mild and Dry Election Day (New Jersey Garden News)

Halloween evening is clear and cold across New Jersey, with the station's live feed reading 54 degrees and falling at filing time, on the way to a Saturday-night low of 43 - and colder in the five South Jersey counties under a National Weather Service Frost Advisory from midnight to 8 a.m. Sunday. Sunday itself, the last day of early voting and the morning the clocks fall back, turns partly cloudy with a high near 62 after a morning low near 39 on the station feed, with lows in the 30s away from the coast.

The warming trend is the week's headline. Monday reaches the mid-60s, and Election Day on Tuesday is the week's mildest voting weather in years on this forecast: a high near 68, a low near 53, and no precipitation in the station feed. Wednesday stays mild near 69 before the week's first real rain chance arrives Thursday, when the feed shows drizzle and a 44 percent precipitation chance with highs in the mid-60s.

For voters, the practical read is simple: Sunday's final early-voting hours (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) are dry and cool, and anyone voting on Tuesday can expect a jacket-optional afternoon at the polls. Gardeners in the Frost Advisory counties - Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem - should still cover sensitive plants tonight; it is the last hard chill in the seven-day feed.
