Frost Advisory for South Jersey Tonight as New Jersey Turns the Clocks Back
A Frost Advisory covers five South Jersey counties from midnight to 8 a.m. Sunday, with lows in the 30s across most of New Jersey on the night daylight saving time ends.

Halloween night turns genuinely cold in New Jersey. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has a Frost Advisory in effect from midnight tonight until 8 a.m. Sunday for Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, with temperatures as low as 34 degrees expected to produce areas of frost, according to the advisory reporting read by this desk. The station's live weather feed put Saturday's high at 61.6 degrees, with temperatures falling through the 50s during trick-or-treating and into the 40s later in the evening.
Outside the advisory counties, the cold is still the story. Forecast guidance read this run puts overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 20s in northern New Jersey's higher elevations, in the 30s for most of the state, and in the lower 40s along the coast. Gardeners in the advisory area should cover or bring in sensitive plants before midnight, and anyone with outdoor Halloween decorations or events running late should expect a hard chill after sunset, which came shortly before 6 p.m.
The cold night comes with an extra hour attached. Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, when New Jersey clocks turn back one hour to 1 a.m. Sunday itself turns partly cloudy with a high near 62 and a low near 39 on the station feed, followed by a high near 66 on Monday - a mild start to Election Week once the frost clears.
