New Jersey Weather Mid-Morning: Already 56.2 and Warming Toward 66.8 — and Election Day's 70.8 Now Holds Through a Fourth Straight Reading (New Jersey Garden News)

Monday's warm-up is well under way on the station's live feed. The current reading at mid-morning is 56.2 degrees, feeling like 51.5, under a partly cloudy sky (code 2) — up from 44.5 degrees and clear at the morning reading, with the day's high nudged up to 66.8 and the rain chance holding at 1 percent, the driest figure of the week. The low tonight is 42.3, a few degrees milder than the frosted starts of the weekend.

Election Day's forecast has now held through four straight readings, which on the day before a vote is the steadiest signal a forecast can give: Tuesday's high is 70.8 degrees — the warmest reading of the early week — with a low of 42.1 for the 6 a.m. poll opening and a rain chance of just 4 percent. Wednesday follows dry at 70.4 with a precip chance of 0 percent and the overnight low jumping to 55.7, the mild air settling in rather than passing through.

The week's rain is still back-loaded and still unchanged at the back: Thursday's showers (code 81) carry a 53 percent rain chance at 67.5, Friday reads 70.0 with the week's highest rain chance at 57 percent under a code 51, Saturday cools to 64.4 at 42 percent and Sunday to 58.2. None of it touches the voting window. New Jersey votes tomorrow in dry, mild weather; the warm-up that proves it is already happening outside this morning.
