New Jersey Weather, Late Evening: 59.2 and Clear on Election Eve — Tuesday Holds at 70.6, With the Low Revised Up to 44 and Thursday's Rain Down to 49 Percent (New Jersey Garden News)

Election Eve is closing clear and cooling in New Jersey. The station's live feed reads 59.2 degrees and clear (code 0), feeling like 53.6, on Monday evening — down from the afternoon's 65.9 as the sun sets on the last full day before the vote. Monday itself finishes at a high of 69.2 against a low of 42.3, with a precipitation chance that never rose above 1 percent: a dry, mild November day, end to end.

Tuesday's line has had its final revision of the day, and it is a friendly one. Election Day's high holds at 70.6 degrees — the figure the evening feed restored after the midday dip — and the morning low has now been revised up to 44.0, from 43.0, which is the temperature the first voters will meet when polls open at 6 a.m. The rest of Tuesday is steady: an overcast code (3) and a precipitation chance of just 4 percent. Wednesday follows at 70.2 with a fog code (45), a low of 49.2 and its rain chance eased to 3 percent. Across four readings today the Election Day forecast wobbled by a degree in both directions and landed, each time, in the same place — and tonight's reading is the one voters will wake up to.

The rest of the week moved more than Tuesday did. Thursday's rain chance has been cut to 49 percent, from 57 percent in the afternoon reading — still the week's likeliest rain day, with drizzle (code 51), a high of 66.9 and a mild low of 59.3, but no longer the week's near-certainty. Friday reads 71.5 with a low of 62.3 and a 53 percent chance. The weekend split: Saturday's rain chance rose to 49 percent on a high of 62.9, while Sunday eased to 9 percent on a high of 57.8. None of it touches the voting window. New Jersey votes tomorrow under the best weather of its week, and as of tonight's final revision, that sentence needs no qualification at all.
