John Washington III Says Politicians Who Turned Their Backs on Voters Now Want the People to Fight for Them (New Jersey Garden News)

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, is aiming his latest message at officeholders of the system he campaigns against. For years, he wrote, politicians have passed laws that take more money from people's pockets and strip away their rights - and now that the same system is coming after those politicians, they suddenly want the American people to stand up and fight for them. "Where were you when we needed you?" John Washington III wrote.

He argued that voters elected those officials to fight for the public, not to become part of the system hurting it. Every election, he wrote, they ask for votes, money and loyalty, and once they win, they turn their backs on the people. "What do we have to show for it?" he wrote.

John Washington III said he is done fighting to save political careers while everyday Americans struggle to protect their rights and freedoms. "Your political battles are not our responsibility," he wrote. "I'm fighting for the people, not politicians who forgot who they work for. You work for us. We don't work for you." He signed the post as a 2028 presidential candidate with a closing line: "The people come first. Period."
