New Jersey Mail Ballot Deadline: The Clerk Route Ends at 3 p.m. Monday, Drop Boxes at 8 p.m. Tuesday
A New Jersey voter who still needs a mail ballot has one route left: apply in person at the County Clerk's office by 3 p.m. on Monday. A completed ballot must be in a county drop box or at the Board of Elections by 8 p.m. on Election Day, or postmarked by Election Day and received by November 9.

One mail-ballot route is still open in New Jersey, and it closes Monday afternoon. A voter who has not yet applied for a mail ballot can still apply in person at the voter's County Clerk's office until 3 p.m. on Monday, November 2, under the New Jersey Division of Elections key dates read by this desk. The by-mail application deadline passed on October 27; the in-person clerk route is the last one.
Returning a completed ballot has three lawful paths, and a polling place is not one of them. A completed mail ballot can be placed in a secure drop box in the voter's own county, or delivered to the County Board of Elections, by 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3. Sent by mail, it must be postmarked by Election Day and reach the county board by November 9. Mail ballots cannot be returned to an early-voting site or an Election Day polling place.
Voters who have already returned a ballot can check its status with the state's Track My Ballot tool. In-person voting resumes at early-voting sites on Sunday for the final early day, and on Election Day at assigned polling places from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
