Manhunt in Franklin Township: Ricardo Ferrera, 32, Is Wanted for the Murder of Christina Cruz on Porchtown Road — Armed and Dangerous, Prosecutor Says
The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office says Ferrera shot Cruz, 30, in a Porchtown Road home at about 12:35 a.m. Monday and left. Porchtown Road is closed for the search, and the public is told not to approach him.
Gloucester County authorities are searching for Ricardo Ferrera, 32, of Franklinville, who is wanted for the murder of his girlfriend, Christina Cruz, 30, in a home on the 1200 block of Porchtown Road in Franklin Township early Monday, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said. A witness who had been upstairs told investigators they heard gunshots at approximately 12:35 a.m. and came downstairs to find Cruz lying in the living room; the witness said Ferrera and Cruz had argued about two hours before the shooting.
A second witness, who was in a first-floor bedroom, reported hearing the argument followed by two gunshots and a thud, the prosecutor's office said in its statement. Ferrera is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The prosecutor's office said he should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached by the public. Porchtown Road was closed between Royal Avenue and Frontage Road for the police search, authorities said — the same closure this station has tracked since the New Jersey State Police confirmed a shooting investigation there in the early hours. Ferrera is accused of murder and weapons offenses. The charges are allegations only, and he has not been convicted in the case.
