New Jersey Weather Late Sunday Night: 46.6 and Clear, Frost Advisory Running to 8 a.m. — Election Day Still 69.3, Rain Chance Now 4 Percent (New Jersey Garden News)

Late Sunday night in New Jersey reads 46.6 degrees and clear on the station's live feed, feeling like 42.2, on the way down to the overnight low of 39.4 that has been on the board all day. The National Weather Service in Mount Holly's Frost Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Monday: the last hours of it will be the coldest, and the early Monday shift should expect a frosted windshield and tender plants that needed covering before bed.

The week ahead is a warming ramp with a wet landing. Monday reaches 66.7 with a 2 percent rain chance. Election Day, Tuesday, still reads 69.3 degrees with a morning low of 42.5 — but its rain chance has ticked up to 4 percent on the current feed, from 2 percent earlier Sunday; it remains, by a wide margin, the driest warm day of the week, and no voter should plan around rain. Wednesday holds at 68.5 and dry, with overnight lows jumping to 55.7 — the frost will be a memory by midweek.

What is firming up is the turn after the voting. Thursday's rain chance now reads 52 percent with a high of 69 and a low of 58.4, Friday's reads 64 percent at 62.7, and Saturday stays unsettled at 47 percent. The pattern is three dry, warming days — frost tonight, 66 Monday, 69 on Election Day — followed by the rain the first half of the week never delivers.
