John Washington III Asks Why Voters Keep Backing Politicians Whose Actions Tell a Different Story
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, asked why people keep following politicians who he says do not care about them, urged voters to judge officials by their actions and voting records, and questioned how some members of Congress become millionaires on a public salary.

John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, opened his post with a question in capital letters: why do people keep following politicians who, in his words, do not give a damn about them? John Washington III asked why voters continue supporting politicians who talk like they love the people while their actions tell a completely different story - promising change and claiming to fight for families, then, he wrote, campaigning on one thing and voting for something completely different. He also asked why people defend those politicians without checking their voting records. "Stop listening to what they say and start paying attention to what they do," John Washington III wrote.
John Washington III then turned to money in office. Most members of Congress receive an annual salary of $174,000, he noted, and he asked how some politicians become millionaires while holding public office - whether the additional money comes from investments, businesses, inheritance, or financial relationships and payments the public does not know about. Having millions of dollars does not automatically mean somebody committed a crime, he wrote, but being a public official should never put anyone above financial scrutiny.
Members of Congress already have public financial disclosure requirements, John Washington III wrote, and he asked why the American people should not examine those records - who is paying an official, who they are doing business with, and who benefits financially from their decisions. "Any politician who is secretly accepting illegal payments in exchange for political favors should be investigated," he wrote, adding that if the evidence proves corruption, they should be held accountable.
