Jets vs. Raiders: Game-Day Trains Run From Secaucus at 9:41, and Every Rider Needs a Wristband
NJ Transit's Meadowlands rail service for Sunday's Jets-Raiders game starts at 9:41 a.m. from Secaucus Junction, the last stadium-bound train leaves Secaucus at 2:15 p.m., and the Portal Bridge cutover means New York schedules are not the ones fans are used to.

Sunday is a Meadowlands rail day. NJ Transit will run trains between Secaucus Junction and Hoboken Terminal and Meadowlands Station for the Jets' 1 p.m. game against the Las Vegas Raiders at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, the agency says in its official game-day advisory read by this desk. Service to Meadowlands Station from Secaucus Junction begins at 9:41 a.m., and the final stadium-bound train departs Secaucus Junction at 2:15 p.m. There is no direct rail service to the stadium from any other line - every rail trip runs as a shuttle through Secaucus or Hoboken.
Every rider needs a wristband. At Secaucus Junction, fans show their NJ Transit Event Ticket to Meadowlands Station to receive a wristband before boarding, and only customers wearing one may board a stadium-bound train; the same check runs at the Hoboken platform entrance. Wristbands are also required to board return trains from Meadowlands Station, and a wristband bought at the stadium is valid only for the ride back to Secaucus - NJ Transit tells fans to buy tickets to their final destination in advance. Stadium parking lots open at 8 a.m. and gates at 11 a.m., and the last train from the stadium will not depart Meadowlands Station any earlier than 6:15 p.m.
The Portal Bridge cutover hangs over the whole day. NJ Transit warns that schedules on trains operating to and from New York are significantly adjusted for the cutover, so fans who are used to particular Sunday football departures should check their New York times carefully. After the game, customers returning via the upper-level Northeast Corridor tracks at Secaucus should allow additional travel time, because the cutover requires continuous single-track operation.
