Monday Morning Traffic: NJ 23 Northbound Is Closed at West Milford for a Crash, the Lincoln Tunnel Reads 60 Minutes, and the Parkway Stacks Up in Essex and Bergen
One full closure leads the 511NJ board: NJ 23 northbound, all lanes closed south of Old Ridge Road in West Milford. Behind it, a 60-minute Lincoln Tunnel crossing and Parkway delays from East Orange to Paramus set the Election Eve commute.

The one closure on Monday morning's 511NJ board is in Passaic County. A crash on NJ 23 northbound south of CR 699 — Old Ridge Road — in West Milford Township has all northbound lanes closed, according to the active-events feed read by this desk, timestamped 7:39 a.m. Eastern. The same highway is slow in the other direction further south, with NJ 23 southbound delays from south of Fairfield Road in Wayne to west of Union Boulevard in Totowa, all lanes open there. No clearance time for the West Milford closure is posted on the feed, and this desk does not invent one.
The Hudson crossing is the morning's second headline. The Port Authority entries in the same feed put the Lincoln Tunnel's South Tube and Center Tube eastbound under delays from Weehawken, all lanes open, with the travel time from the New Jersey Turnpike at 60 minutes. An earlier snapshot of the feed, read this run at about 6:25 a.m. Eastern, carried a Port Authority crash on the Goethals Bridge eastbound at mid-span in Elizabeth with one center lane of three blocked, alongside delays on NJ 21 northbound in Clifton, NJ 4 eastbound from Englewood toward Fort Lee, and I-280 eastbound from East Orange to Newark, all lanes open on those three.
The Garden State Parkway fills out the board in both directions: southbound delays from north of Exit 145 at I-280 in East Orange to south of Exit 143C in Irvington; northbound delays north of the Bergen Toll Plaza in Saddle Brook to north of Exit 160 in Paramus, and again from south of Exit 147 in East Orange to Exit 150 in Bloomfield; half-mile exit delays at Exit 130B-A southbound and Exit 127 northbound in Woodbridge; and delays on the I-280 westbound ramp to I-80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills, all lanes open. It is a volume-and-one-closure Monday: the only road on the board that is actually shut is NJ 23 northbound in West Milford.
